I’ve always
felt a bit of a connection to the SEABISCUIT story. When I first
started working on the racetrack at Bay Meadows back in the
seventies, there were still plenty of people around who had been
associated with the horse and I loved to listen to their old
stories. Most memorable was MyMy Howard, who was Charles
Howard’s granddaughter. She continued the family tradition of
owning racehorses and was quite a flamboyant character around
the track. I particularly enjoyed researching the old photos.
Fortunately, there were many and I feel that this piece is a
pretty accurate portrayal of SEABISCUIT, crooked legs and all!
